THE LIVING ROOM (S) – My Old Country House

Our LIVING ROOMs are the heart of our home.

I will never forget the day we first visited the house.

It was snowy and cold and the house had been empty for 3 years. But she had great bones. And I immediately could see how beautiful she was – even in her neglected state.

I rounded the corner and looked the length of the living room and saw…the mirror.

This is the BEFORE OF OUR LIVING ROOMS!

We have two living rooms connected by 8 ft pocket doors.

True to their name – we LIVE in our LIVING rooms!

We have removed the TV from the “Pink” Living room, so most of the lounging AND working remotely and best of all – Netflix etc. binging takes place in the front living room.

There are so many possible configurations for living room design, and when you are working with two adjoining rooms or an open floor plan – traffic patterns can present unique (and fun) challenges.

Perhaps one of my favorite pieces of ART in the living room is “BLUE” – Blue was the name of the Koala we held in Australia.I was inspired to do a series of Austalia-inspired animal paintings after our visit there in 2019.
