Nashua Elementary

Each morning, the principal of Nashua Elementary greats students with "Welcome to Nashua, home of the Stars!" Nashua Elementary is one of 22 elementary schools in the North Kansas City School District (NKCSD) in Kansas City, Missouri. The school opened in 1952, and currently serves over 400 students in kindergarten through 5th grade.

A part of the NKCSD family, Nashua is a champion for all students. Through high expectations and strong relationships each student is provided a variety of opportunities to succeed. Rigorous curriculum, using visible learning strategies within the workshop model framework, allows students to fail forward until mastery is achieved. Technology plays an important role in differentiating instruction and every student has access to an iPad throughout the school day. Students in third through fifth grade take their iPads home daily to extend their learning time.

The Nashua community plays a vital role in the school. Families provide support through the Parent Teacher Association and YouthFriends. Every year we meet our goal of 100% attendance at our Parent Teacher Conferences and Student Led Conferences. Local business partners provide support by donating time and money to our after-school programs such as STEM, Art Club, Honor Choir, and Running Club. Our community cares and students love coming to school. As a result, Nashua Elementary consistently has the highest attendance rate in the NKCSD.

Our Stars know what it takes to be successful and they carry that belief with them inside and outside of school. The principal ends each day with a challenge to "Be a Star wherever you are!" Our formula for success is high expectations and relationships. This drives Nashua to high achievement.
