Who We Are?
Our Mission
At NC Aquatics, our mission is to teach every child strength, independence, and self-confidence through the joy of learning to swim.
Our promise
Our goal at NC Aquatics is to create strong and independent swimmers. As such, if your child is not swimming at the expected level after 6 weeks of paid lessons, all subsequent lessons are free until they are swimming independently.
OUR START
NC Aquatics was born out of passion, necessity, and a love for swimming! We moved to Clayton in 2015 and we searched for a swimming program for our oldest daughter, Caroline (1.5 years old at the time), who had been enrolled in a PediaSwim program in Houston, Texas. However, we could not find a program that we felt matched PediaSwim’s effectiveness and caliber in creating strong independent swimmers.
As a longtime swimmer, I worked with friends and family, for fun, to help their children learn their strokes and breathing techniques over the years. It was over 10 years ago when my niece and nephew took a survival swim program that I was introduced to the process and I was immediately amazed and enamored. When we moved to Clayton it offered me an opportunity to chase this dream and get my certification to teach PediaSwim. I chose PediaSwim after researching many programs because of how effective the program was with my own daughter and the extremely thorough training process (over 240 hours in the pool working with children ages 6 months – 6 years).
I studied directly with Joy McGintry, founder of PediaSwim and Southwest Aquatics, in Orlando, Florida. Southwest Aquatics is a world class facility and organization that has taught countless children how to swim and a handful have even gone on to the Olympic Trials. Joy and her team also provide drowning prevention resources (PediaSwim) to the community through their non-profit, ‘The Gift of Swimming.’ This program serves the local underpriveleged, mentally or physically challenged, or otherwise disadvantaged and I am extremely proud that I was able to participate in this program during my certification training.
