Tri-City Medical Center’s highly anticipated ER remodel project won’t break ground until after the new year – and after the anticipated flu season – but the remodel process has begun. The medical center is actively planning to accommodate patient needs during construction and will soon debut a beautiful outdoor waiting area adjacent to the ER entrance with new comfortable seating and colorful shade structures.
Additionally, the Tri-City Hospital Foundation will host their Jazzy Jubilee, a gala event at the Omni La Costa Resort on November 12th with special guest, Grammy Award-winning musical talent Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue. “I get emotional thinking about our friends and neighbors and what they would do if we weren’t here. I think it is our responsibility to continue elevating our care and this is the next project to provide a state-of-the-art facility that matches our quality of care,” President of the Tri-City Hospital Foundation Jennifer Paroly said. The new ER will be built with significant donations from the David C. Copley Foundation and the Conrad Prebys Foundation.
The new ER will have a modern, well-lit waiting room, new flooring, paint and a layout that will bring the essence of the community into the hospital. The floor will mimic the beach with its colors and textures, as will the walls and art. “The hope is we can provide serenity in our design, so our patients feel comforted everywhere they look, whether that is a beautiful photo, or the compassionate face of one of our staff,” Chief of External Affairs Aaron Byzak said.
The project will not affect the quality of care for TCMC’s patients. They will relocate the ER entrance and rooms to ensure patients and staff have everything they need during construction.
