Salman's journey as Prem continued till Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. However, now it seems, that renowned filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya has found his new age Prem.
Rajshri Productions, known for its family-oriented films, has found its new age Prem and signed an actor with a good image among the family audience.
According to an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, Sooraj Barjatya has signed Ayushmann Khurrana to play the leading man in his next directorial.

According to the report, a close source to the development said that Ayushmann has been signed for an untitled romantic saga, which demanded the presence of an actor from the younger generation.

Further, the source added that filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya feels that Ayushmann has the innocence and charm in him to play Prem. After signing the male lead, the filmmaker is in search of the female lead. He will proceed towards casting the ensemble cast after locking the female lead, the source added.

Notably, earlier this year, reports were abuzz that Sallu once again will team up with Sooraj for a flick tentatively titled Prem Ki Shaadi and reappear as Prem. However, the movie was shelved. While reports claimed the duo will reunite for another massive project, there have been no updates yet. Following that, rumours were abuzz that Sooraj was in search of his new Prem. Names of actors like Shahid Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan also popped up as the most eligible contenders for Prem. However, it seems, Ayushmann has finally bagged the chance. Well, if the reports are anything to go by, time will reveal if the Dream Girl actor will be able to justify Prem's character with his own charm.
