SanSe San Sebastian Street Festival 2025


Immerse yourself in the vibrant fusion of tradition and Puerto Rican culture at the SanSe Festival—a spectacular celebration where attendees, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, actively participate. Balconies along Calle San Sebastián offer a panoramic view, reminiscent of a Puerto Rican Mardi Gras without the beads and revelry.

The 2025 San Sebastián Street Festival will be a celebration to commemorate its 55th anniversary, solidifying its place as the largest cultural event in Puerto Rico. The festival will take place from January 16 to 19 in Old San Juan, featuring a schedule full of artistic and cultural activities.

In terms of schedules for closing platforms, businesses and kiosks, these have been established as follows:

  • The closing of platforms will be at 11:00 p.m.
  • The closing of the kiosks will be at 12:00 a.m.
  • Businesses will close at 1:00 a.m.

Health Services

For the holidays, four Emergency Rooms will be set up to provide cardiac monitoring, medications and first aid. These will be located at:

  • San Juan Museum
  • Tourist Center behind the Tapia Theater
  • Emergency Room (ambulatory) -located on San José Street in front of the old Plaza de Armas Hotel
  • National Guard Station (Esteves Street)

All you need to know about Public Transportation

The Department of Transportation recommends opting for public transportation over driving to Old San Juan during the festival’s four days.

Taxi services will be accessible at the Convention Center, with a parking fee.

Uber will operate as usual, dropping off near the Hacienda building in Old San Juan.

The ferry service between Cataño and Old San Juan will operate from 7:30 am to 2 am, offering round-trip tickets at $1 per person. Purchase ferry tickets online or through the City Experiences app.

AMA buses, along with other buses and multi-person vans (Guaguas), will run from the Sagrado Corazón station and Hiram Bithorn Stadium into Old San Juan, with parking at Hiram Bithorn Stadium available for $5.

The Tren Urbano will run from 5:30 am during the festival, charging $1.50 per trip. Park for $3 at Plaza de la Convalencencia or Plaza de Rio Piedras for convenient train access.

Parking options include Covadonga at a flat rate of $5 starting at 8 am for the day. Note that Puntilla lot will not be open, and traffic is expected to be challenging—public transportation is recommended. Private parking lots like Ballaja, Dona Fela, Trecero Milenio, etc., will also be open for use.
