These DIY lava lamps are SO COOL and completely mesmerizing to watch! The bubbles float up and fall back down in this fun science experiment.
Here's what
you'll need:
- Water
- Food Coloring
- Canola or
Vegetable Oil
- Alka-Seltzer

After mixing together the water, food coloring and vegetable oil, drop a couple broken pieces of Alka-Seltzer into the container and be amazed!
The reaction lasts between 1-3 minutes. Simply add more broken up Alka-Seltzer pieces to re-activate your lava lamp.
Homemade lava lamps are such a cool science experiment. You can try different types of oil, different glass shapes and different colors to see what you like best.
