National Work Zone Awareness Week

Today, April 6th is Orange Day in Kansas. Everyone is encouraged to wear orange to show support for Kansas highway workers.

A work zone safety news conference will take place today at 10 a.m. at the Oakland Subarea in Topeka. Scheduled to speak are; Secretary Deb Miller, Kansas Highway Patrol Superintendent Ernest Garcia, and Shirley McDonald, mother of KDOT employee Scotty McDonald who was killed in a 2005 work zone crash.
