So I did this one, just to get some feedback from the people here. What do you think? Lines around the picture or no? Any other suggestions?

Hi,
Amazed at all of the excellent work in the post. Does anyone here know the name of the font used on the back of the VHS boxes in the early 90’s? I know I’ve seen it before but I’m trying to match it for a project and have been able to pin it down yet. It was used on the back of the tapes in both the “Special Letterbox Collector’s Edition” box and the individual pan-and-scan releases with yellow titles and original poster art.
Thanks!
Here’s my take on the John Alvin artworks:
Those are fantastic! Using that artwork for my discs!

A black border around the picture on the white background would make it pop more . looks good man !
Thanks Screams in the void, I’m currently working on something that will include all the films and upcoming series from Disney. I’ll be posting it in the next few days.
I took RonWLim’s blu ray design concept. I added other artists work on the front covers. This is what it looks like. I also modified a few designs and added a few different things, but I also added the original design of the artist as well. Let me know what you think. I call these the Rebellion Editions, as I used images of Bail Organa and Mon Mothma, as well as a few others to connect the Saga as a whole throughout all the covers. If you are the artist and want the image removed, PM me and I’ll remove them asap. I did try and attach the artist’s name when I could.
Sweet range of covers there, CarboniteSolo, Falle, Mass5160 & Darth Lucas 😃
ALways great ot see the Holiday Special, Ewok films and the various animated series get some covers too!

I’m sorry if I didn’t add the original artists names on the art, I didn’t know who they were. Did anyone notice Luke in the Return of the Jedi poster? look closely. I’m currently working on Episode IX.
I want Leia, Luke, Lando and Chewie as the large main characters, with the Rey and Kylo silhouette fighting in the background. This will match up to the other two that Adam Schickling and the art I put together for The Last Jedi.
Also, if you put those two posters together (TFA and TLJ), you’ll see Kylo is looking at his dad in The Force Awakens Han Solo modified poster.
I’ll eventually get to the others that I missed. I’ll also update these as I get more material when it’s released from Disney/Lucasfilm.
They do look nice, even if I’m not a huge fan of some of those posters.
One thing I will say - be careful bringing the blacks down too much like that. It looks nicer on a screen, where you can get the blacks nice and inky without crushing too much detail out, but that can tend to look … not as good when printed, in my experience. (I’m mainly speaking to your OT/ST covers and the textless TPM one, AOTC and ROTS and the rest look good.)
Of course, I haven’t printed yours, so you may have found the right balance and I’m just being overly cautious! (I’m also sure certain printers and/or printer paper will have better luck with deeper black levels than others.)
Yeah, I’ll go back and lighten that up some, thank you.
They look cool. The one thing that looks strange to me is Han’s face for the Force Awakens cover.

Yeah - there’s been some chat about in this thread:-

Personally, I’m not a fan of them - there are better covers by fans on here… than those supposedly official covers (and without the errors too 😉 )
What do you think of them, mate?

Yeah, I seen the errors on ROTS and TLJ, they didn’t leave the colors of the lightsaber blade, but on the other covers they did. I noticed a few other things too. It looked liked they used a few of my ideas, and some of the other people on here too.
I can’t complain though, I used other people’s ideas too, but never said they were mine.
Here’s my take on the John Alvin artworks:
Stunning!

Still gotta make a cover for Solo, too…
Have you gotten around yet to tackling a Solo cover to match your series? Great work, btw!
The answer is now yes! … or it was a while back and I forgot to upload it. I also apparently forgot to render out a “Saga Spine” version, which will have to wait, but in the meantime, here’s the “theatrical spine” version:
I was sold on the set of covers created by ChainsawAsh, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out! Thank you so much!
Thanks! That’s great to see people like them.
And, as promised (but much delayed), here’s the “saga spine” version of Solo:
I’m going to have to revisit the Solo cover some day. Thandie Newton being so visible on the spine of the “saga” version is…weird.
Took a stab at making a set of Blu-ray slipcovers for all eight saga films. I decided to use the sequel trilogy title aesthetic (Serif Gothic) to have a consistent look on the spines, while using the original title treatments and teaser poster artwork on the cover. I haven’t gotten around to designing a back cover yet, but here’s what I’ve got so far:
And here’s The Rise of Skywalker to round out the set.
Along with the complete set of spines.
Just an idea I had after seeing some VHS-style BluRay slipcases online
Hey I thought I’d throw in my Blu Ray art for the 97 SE Trilogy. I scanned the box art from my widescreen VHS tapes and arranged them to fit Blu Ray. They should look a lot better when they’re printed out and not on a screen.

Here’s my current mockup for TROS - if anyone has leads on solid fan-made logos, please send 'em my way. I’ll probably try to whip some up eventually but after doing a clean install of Windows recently I may have lost all of my fonts, so I’ll have to dig through my backup HDD’s (this is also why none of the back text is different than the TLJ cover on this one and why I haven’t made my “saga spine” version yet):
I am a fan of the Sequel Trilogy posters. I still miss painted posters, though. Part of me wonders why studios like Disney & Lucasfilm can’t commission someone to paint the posters. Is it too expensive? Is it cheaper to get a random person in-house to edit pictures together on PhotoShop or whatever program is used for making posters, like the one above? Are they afraid that modern fans will complain that it’s a painting and not a collage of photos? Paintings are not out of date.
YUB NUB!
My favorite Sequel Trilogy posters have been the D23 posters, especially the Struzan poster for The Force Awakens.
I wish they would hire someone to paint the sequel trilogy, much like Drew Struzan’s Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition posters. I mean something like how Adam Schickling did The Force Awakens poster.
