Stand up paddleboarding (SUP) is all the rage. SUP is the fastest growing water sport in the world. Combine surfing with kayaking and you’ve got stand up paddleboarding.
The reason so many people are drawn to paddleboarding is that it’s an amazing full-body workout that improves your core strength, cardio fitness, balance, and flexibility with virtually no impact. Plus, it’s fun to get out on the water to enjoy the tranquil beauty of West Bay, so it hardly feels like exercise. Even though paddleboarding is a total-body workout, people of all ages and fitness levels can try the sport. Many SUP boarders use it for a cross training workout. It improves your core strength and balance, especially when incorporating yoga on the board.
Speaking of yoga, Paddle TC offers many SUP lessons including SUP yoga lessons, as well as group and individual technique lessons for boarders of all levels. Even if you choose not to take advantage of our yoga classes, our experienced boarders encourage you to strike a yoga pose or two while on your board. It will help you to advance your footwork and weight distribution in moving water.
Paddle TC offers a number of different rental options when it comes to stand up paddle boards. The varying lengths and widths allow for a wide range of abilities. When choosing a paddleboard there are a few rules of thumb to follow. #1 A longer board generally glides better. #2 A wider board generally provides more balance. #3 A shorter board generally turns better. The outdoor enthusiasts in the Paddle TC Rental Booth will help determine the correct board for your level of experience and your particular adventure.
