Lisa Kudrow reveals body image issues on ‘Friends’ set

It turns out Lisa Kudrow didn’t have the confidence of quirky and unfiltered Phoebe Buffay when the “Friends” cameras turned off.

Reflecting on the beloved sitcom, Kudrow said on this week’s episode of the podcast “WTF with Marc Maron” that she couldn’t help but compare herself to co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox.

“You see yourself on TV and it’s that ‘Oh my God, I’m just a mountain of a girl’ … I’m already bigger than Courteney and Jennifer, like my bones feel bigger,'” she recalled thinking when talking about managing a slim figure for the camera. “I just felt like this mountain of a woman next to them.”

The actress, 55, explained that she did her best to stay fit for Hollywood, despite her actual health.

“Unfortunately for a woman, if you’re underweight, you look good,” the “Booksmart” star said. “When I was too thin I was sick all the time, a cold, sinus infection, I was always sick.”

Nowadays, Kudrow says she still battles with body image but has learned to accept that physical changes come with aging.

“I just go, ‘All right, so what? You’re older that’s a good thing, why is that a bad thing?’ ”
