Aaron Rodgers debuts first tattoo after Shailene Woodley breakup
Aaron Rodgers finally got inked.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback debuted his first-ever tattoo on Instagram Wednesday: a sprawling piece down his arm that incorporates nods to astrology, a pair of lions, an ocean view and an eye overlooking it all.
“There’s a deep and meaningful story and connection to absolutely each element of this art piece, and I’ll share a little more about that one day,” Rodgers captioned his post, thanking tattoo artist Balazs Bercsenyi for his “mastery and friendship.”
The athlete, a Sagittarius, also hashtagged #astrology and #theelements.
The fresh ink comes just a few months after Rodgers, 38, split from fiancée Shailene Woodley, with whom he shared an astrologer. The spiritual pair, who called it quits in April, started dating in 2020 and got engaged in 2021.
Rodgers’ teammates jested about the tat, with Packers pal David Bakhtiari quipping, “I hope this is a henna tattoo.”
Former Packers player Tom Crabtree joked, “Need you fully sleeved on both arms by week one,” adding, “Text me for tribal and nickelback tattoo ideas.”
Fans poked fun at the elaborate art as well, with one writing, “New playbook looks complicated” and another asking, “Tom Brady gave you a tattoo?”
Rodgers and Woodley appear to be healing from their emotional breakup in different ways; Woodley is being “nurtured” by nature and friends, and Rodgers is expressing himself on his arm.
