Newport Police Personnel Receive Promotions

Four members of the were promoted Tuesday during a ceremony at .

Tom Fischbacher: The 22-year department veteran was promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant. He will serve as a watch commander in the department's patrol division.

Kirk Jacobi: A 23-year department veteran, Jacobi was promoted from officer to Sergeant. He will be assigned to the patrol division as a supervisor.

Dave Miner: A 9-year department veteran, Miner was promoted from officer to sergeant. He will be assigned to the patrol division as a field supervisor.

Jason Servin: A 15-year department veteran, Servin was promoted from dispatcher to senior dispatcher. He also has served as a communications training officer and as a member of the department’s crisis negotiation team.
