Summary[]
This story is about Kirara Hoshizuki, a girl who lives in Hoshimidai, a town with a beautiful starry sky. Kirara, who goes to elementary school, is unable to confess to her longing senior and gets depressed because of this. The king of Mariland appears and invites Kirara to Mariland to see a wishing star that grants her wishes.
Kirara meets and becomes friends with Mariland citizens, including My Melody. Kirara waits for a starry night in Maryland, but the wishing star falls to the ground before she can tell her wish, and the star shatters into pieces. On top of that, the collision of the wishing stars damaged the trumpet at the entrance to the human world, making it impossible to return to the original world.
On the other hand, Sorara, the Prince of the Wishing Star, who fell on the wishing star, was also transformed into a chick by Baku's words, and when the star was shattered, he lost his magical power and returned to his original state so he couldn't go back to his country.
After the wishing star incident, a strange incident occurred in Mariland where the power of the star fragments caused the residents who had a fleeting dream to go out of control. In order to solve this case and return to her original world, Kirara and My Melody have to work hard to collect star fragments.

Trivia[]
- Berry and Cherry, a pair of Sanrio characters named Lloromannic, appear in the eyecatches and replace Harinezumi as the narrators of the series.
- Uta Yumeno was seen a handful of times throughout the series, appearing as one of Bunny Eared Mask's assitants with Kakeru Kogure in episode 18, a flashback in another episode, and in a scene in final episode with other old supporting characters.
- This series utilizes flash animation, with the exception of a few episodes. This was most likely due to the show having a lower budget this time.
- However on the plus side, this makes the animation style a lot more smoother than the previous seasons.
- Instead of collecting Music Notes like previous seasons, in Kirara the goal is to collect Star Fragments. Both My Melody and Kuromi collect these fragments but they end up with Prince Sorara.
- New facilities such as schools, museums, department store basements, and amusement parks have appeared, often revealing the other side of Mariland that wasn't revealed in previous series. Also, since the story happends in Mariland, the appearance frequency of Mariland characters has increased compared to previous series. Occasionally, aliens and space creatures may appear as guests.
- Because it is set in the past, care has been taken to ensure that there is no contradiction with the previous three works, which are chronologically set in the future. However, there are some changes, like things that didn't exist in the first story, In episode 46, the horn appeared as a substitute for the trumpet, and in the final episode, Kirara returned to the time one year ago, leading to the first season.
- Since it is before My Melody meets the human characters of the previous work, they basically do not appear. However, weathercaster Haruka Amamiya appears several times in the form of TV programs and goods owned by the king, and Santa Claus appears in the Christmas episode of episode 38, as long as it does not cause contradiction. There are appearances. Furthermore, in the final episode, there are many human characters from the previous seasons that appear.
- At first glance. it can be said that the style has changed significantly from the previous My Melody seasons, but the general theme of "recovering people's dreams" has not changed.
- It is the last work of the "Onegai My Melody" TV anime series, and it is also the last non-high-definition broadcast animation by the national network produced by TV Osaka. After the end of this work, the "Jewelpet" series started with the same production system.
