Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Explains Why She Won't Be Sharing Photos of Her Baby Daughter Aurora on Social Media

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard won't be showing her daughter on social media.

After the reality TV star — whose experience as a victim of Munchausen by proxy made national headlines — shared that she'd recently welcomed her baby daughter Aurora, she posted a statement on her Instagram Stories, revealing whether she'd be posting more photos of her daughter.

"To everyone asking, No, I will not be posting pictures of Aurora," Blanchard, 33, wrote. "I understand everyone's excitement and we appreciate the support, but we value the privacy and safety of our daughter."

"We continue to express love towards our supporters and thank you for following our journey ❤️."

Earlier this month, Blanchard shared that she and her boyfriend Ken Urker welcomed their first baby together, a daughter named Aurora Raina Urker.

Urker shared a snap of the new mom cradling their baby in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Jan. 1, with the caption, "Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all 👼."

The photo showed Blanchard lying in a hospital bed as she and Urker held their newborn. The two parents looked down lovingly at their baby, who was wearing a pink hat.

While chatting with PEOPLE in December, Blanchard said that she can't take credit for her baby girl's name.

"Ken came up with that," she said of Urker's idea to name their daughter Aurora Raina. "There's a whole backstory to it."

"Back whenever Ken and I were together seven years ago, both of us have a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis," she shared of when she and Urker first dated during her time in prison. (Blanchard spent eight years in prison for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother Dee Dee, who subjected her daughter to years of painful medical procedures she never needed.)

"I think it was maybe in 2018, we wrote each other's future kid's name on pieces of paper and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing each other was picking it," Blanchard recalled.

Blanchard and Urker first shared in July that they were expecting their first baby together after having rekindled their romance. Blanchard had filed to divorce her estranged husband Ryan Anderson in April.

Blanchard took a prenatal paternity test and publicly confirmed on Nov. 5 that Urker is the father of her baby and not Anderson.
