Description

On my computer, CTRL+M shortcuts are not clearing formatting.

On Chromium 49, that shortcut opens the IME selector on Flow and does nothing on an page edited with VE.
On Firefox 45, it mutes my tab on Flow, and randomly mute the tab or clears formatting on an page edited with VE.

Config: intl configuration for an Azerty 105 keys keyboard for PCs (by default when I've installed my machine), on Xubuntu 14.04.
With that disposal, it is not possible to use CTRL+\ to clear formatting

I can't reproduce by just changing by keyboard layout (Ubuntu). Can you reproduce on a clean machine?

Reproduced on @EdouardHue's computer on Debian Stretsh + Cinnamon:

Chrome 49.0.2623.108 - X11 keyboard layout PC104/fr while logged-in , Crtl+M opens the IME selector on VE ; Ctrl+\ (Ctrl+AltGr+8) clears styling
Firefox 45.0.1
- Nothing happen (no clearing or muting, nothing visible) when not logged-in
- Crtl+M opens the IME selector on VE when logged-in instead of inserting a template.

Tested on @Psychoslave's computer while logged-in: Fedora 23 on Firefox 47.0, BEPO keyboard - nothing happen (no clearing or muting, nothing visible).

Different behaviour between logged-in and logged-out means some feature/script/gadget/etc. is breaking this in some subtle way, presumably. Troubling.
