Commons Android app team here, we really want to implement DNG upload in the app as soon as possible.
It will be transparent for the user, as the app can find the DNG file associated to the JPG being uploaded.

The config change was reverted in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/operations/mediawiki-config/+/790337, so the new footer has not been deployed. I just ran into the unused messages in WikimediaMessages, and I'm wondering whether this change is still desirable, or whether the best course of action would be to remove them.
Tagging Privacy Engineering to get this in their queue as they have direct interactions with WMF-Legal (which isn't really active on Phabricator at all AIUI).
Yep. I don't quite agree with this, but Legal signed this off, and that was the sole reason for the Declined status.
Could we re-open this Task? According to https://foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Policy:Access_to_nonpublic_personal_data_policy/Exceptions the legal issue should be resolved.

Good to know we have a patter for that. So if we have the extensions added in the same format as the PrefUpdateInstrumentation, any time someone installs or uninstalls the extensions we've added in the opt-in list we'll receive the data?
@Urbanecm_WMF Would the second option work by us whitelisting which extensions we want to receive from the third-party Wiki?
