The average or negative HSV test means the virus is not present at the detectable level of the Herpes simplex virus in your body. The usual presence does not indicate any infectious or disease-related conditions.

A sample of blood is needed to go through a Herpes Simplex Virus test. No other specific preparation is required.

With a simple blood test, an HSV test does not require any specific preparation. The blood sample is collected simply by drawing blood from one of the veins in the arm. The blood sample is contained in a vial or test tube and then further sent to a laboratory for examination. The sample collection procedure is effortless and does not have any risk to patient health.
