Francisville’s whimsical indoor golf bar Libertee Grounds opens this week with hyperlocal beers and Pan-Asian bar fare inspired by the founders’ multicultural backgrounds, but customers will have to wait a little longer to partake in its main putting attraction.

Spanning across two floors at The Civic Apartments (1600 W. Girard Avenue), Libertee is scheduled to open with takeout and delivery only to start on Thursday, January 14.

The first floor bar offers 32 taps of rotating craft beer, cider, seltzer, and wine, all repping makers within 40 miles of Philadelphia. IPAs, stouts, and porters, served in 16-oz. cans, drafts, and four-packs ($5-$18), include options from Triple Bottom, Free Will, Workhorse, and more nearby brewers.

“You won’t see any big box brands on tap here,” co-owner Pri Rambhia tells Eater.

To-go cocktails served in 8-, 16- or 32-ounce containers ($12-$50) also show love for local distillers like Boardroom Gin and Three Bitches Vodka. The latter helps build an “Error 404, No Page Found” alongside elderflower, Aperol, simple syrup, and lemon.

Pri Rambhia, Sanil Shah, Kanay Patel are all first generation Indian-Americans, whose parents moved to the U.S. in their late 20s.

“Our food menu is a combination of that link to our heritage and upbringing as American kids,” says Rambhia.

Libertee’s spin on Philly’s beloved cheesesteak features a masala-rubbed lamb and ribeye blend, joined by American cheese, grilled onion, and cilantro lime aioli on a long roll.

“To take it a step further, we decided to make the menu Pan-Asian to provide a variety of Asian flavors baked into our menu items,” he says.

The shortened opening menu ($4-$14) also includes a sloppy joe with coconut curried chickpea, eggplant, spinach, onion, cilantro, and watercress on brioche; kimchi mac and cheese bites with a gochujang marinara dip; and kung pao hot chicken on a potato bun.

Takeout and delivery will continue for a few weeks while the comeback of indoor dining is assessed, and only four customers will be allowed inside at a time to grab to-go orders.

As of now, indoor dining is expected to resume on Saturday, January 16 in Philly. Tables will be spaced at least six feet apart at Libertee once its first guests are seated inside at a TBD date.

The sprawling golf course downstairs comes framed with artistic odes to Philly landmarks like Boathouse Row and the Art Museum.

Two semi-private event spaces surrounding the golf course will be available for rent and community gatherings at a future date.
