Unfortunately Colorado has been experiencing hot, dry weather which is making us vulnerable to wildfires. We need some rain! I love to sit on the porch and listen to the rain. I used to be a country girl when I was in high school so Garth Brooks “Thunder Rolls” and “Rocking With the Rhythm of the Rain” by the Judds were the perfect porch sitting, storm watching songs. I have moved away from my country roots a bit and I am more of a top 40 girl but I still love me some good ol’ 80’s and 90’s country. Also known as “classic country” which makes me feel OLD.
But enough about me and my OLD self. Something that isn’t old is sweet Maddy! Her mom was my son’s kindergarten teacher and I loved her to pieces and we became friends!
I did Maddy’s older sister’s senior pictures a few years ago and it was nice to have another Stevens in front of my lens.
I subbed a lot at D’Evelyn the year that Maddy was in 7th grade and she was so cute and shy. I loved seeing a familiar face when I often subbed in her English class. She is still sweet and a bit shy but I can’t believe she is going to be a senior!!
Maddy wasn’t super excited about pictures….but after a few minutes I hooked her in and by the end, she was an old pro!
She rocked her session and even mastered the serious face! And I love her dress with the converse!!
We went up into the beautiful Ken Caryl Valley and it did not disappoint. It was green and luscious and perfection!
It even has red rocks that make for a great backdrop for pictures.
Maddy is on the Tennis team and runs cross country at D’Evelyn and is an all-around rock star!
Look at my beautiful friend. She is a great teacher, mom and friend. I love how these two are best friends and I loved seeing their special relationship in action. It made me want a daughter!! These mother-daughter photos will have to do to give me my fix!
Maddy also brought along her younger sister and her cousin. They were a hoot and it was so fun to see them doing their own photo shoot with their phones.
Congratulations Maddy! I hope you have a wonderful senior year at D’Evelyn this year.
Oh my!! Our amazing grand daughter is all of a sudden a beautiful you lady. Can’t believe the change. 😉
