As Islands Sink
08:55
|
|||
Abandoned by the light
If we die here
Lay me by the river
We feel the orbits realign
Watching as islands sink
And everything we love burn to the ground
Muting
The cries of abhorrence
The smoke clears the way in the night
Amidst a whelm of treacherous adoration
Burying
Defiled memories
South of where the cinders fall
Bringing forth
The semblance of consolation
Through the veil of darkness
A cold serenity
Reveals all but
The promise of a coming day
Ominous is the waters’ elegy
A harbor that’s long been denied
To bestow
Penance or condonation
Across the night eternal
We close our eyes to see
An ivory tower
Collapsing in the heart of every man
In perennial defiance of the wild
Not from the echoes of the deep
(Nor from the rustling of fire)
The crowds so feebly were deafened from the serpent’s song
Not by the moonlight over hill
(Nor by the outlines of pyres)
Our eyes glimmer to shards of lacerating northern stars
Abandoned by the light
If we die here
Lay me by the river
We feel the orbits realign
Watching as islands sink
And everything we love lost on the ground
Like captives of the night
When we die here
Let us be delivered
(set us free)
Our eyes become a satellite
Watching this island sink
And the strain within
Grow until we drown

Fallow Garden
10:53
|
|||
Born to this fallow garden
A gallery of ashes in a gilded cage
Bare of the mother vices
Belated like the crop of a sunken soil
Sworn to a frayed alliance
The tides of tradition so swiftly turn
Unlearned till our inner moths are
Summoned by the light of a foreign sun
Falling away into the blue
Need I be the first to dive
To sever the ties and come on through
Departing the heartland’s wilderness
Should fate befall
These garden halls
Grown in this fallow garden
A fatalistic refuge in a maze of death
Allowed to this funeral stride yet
Silenced by the hand that bears the scythe
No, no escape in sight
No remnant of volition to seize
Trapped in this sinking island
Where all life begins and ends
Far and away in tides unknown
You might be the last to run
Fearing the burden lies on you
To harvest the endless sky
Empires fall
The silent spring dawns on earth

Macaw's Lament

In Fringes
08:43
|

Time
Bridges all things
Feel the sun forever falling
Grace,
Like the coming dawn,
The spell you’re under halts
the night
There
From the crimson tide
Winds have come
through westward waters
Strange
How the years go by
And still the waves have seized your eyes
Irreversible the surge
See the parallels of the earth cross
Silences are the farewell sign
But time is a river
It rages on towards the borderlines
it forms…
What it forms is a glaring ideal
A wistful mountain
Of coal and ashes
It invites the spirit
To roam beyond the city lights
To scale that summit
And gaze at the abyss
Though nightfall still
Bears the stain of common fears
The moonlit path unfolds in every step
And like the darkness
The soul too shall ravish
When hope triumphs gravity
Silences are the farewell sign
But time is a river
It rages on towards the borderlines it forms
A canvas to bear the final light
To whichever battle
That wages on across the motherland we part
If only in my mind…

Terra Dois
10:07
|
|||
Fire leans over me
Eternity
Quilted by the night
Far beyond the sea
Old reveries
Wither
Late to our return
The seasons turn
Ever so divine
Stained but hallowed still
The land I yield
Is severed
Over this faded line
One step too deep into the mire
A reaching hand
A deafening sigh
Until the wails of wolves
Remind us of elegies
of summers gone
And ’til the ground below
Devours the firmament whole
Beyond the great unknown
Horizons are conjuring
A fiery storm
A war fought alone
For a hundred years
We heed the silent call
Sprout of iron
The wreckage of yesteryear
In constant bloom
Our desolation
Is blind to where we lay our fathers
A trail of virtue,
To sully the purity
And brave the fall
In dedication
To waters sailed long before us
To our mothers’ staying power
Reeling across this faded line
Until the wails of wolves
Remind us of elegies
of summers gone
And ’til the ground below
Devours the firmament whole
Beyond the great unknown
Horizons are conjuring
A fiery storm
A war fought alone
For a hundred years
We heed the silent call
As the firestorm leaned closer
Eternity was painted across the sky
Pride would never let this river be our deathbed
It belongs to me
It belongs to me

Canícula
08:55
|
|||
Canícula,
Sopra na direção
Do que ficou
E o que ruiu por fim
Lava a alma
Com o sal da terra
E no meu olhar semeia
Os ventos do sul
Cálida ilusão
Em teu ardor,
Um cais na travessia
Corre ao largo
O fino pranto,
mas,
o que a lágrima perfura
é fardo de um só coração
Canícula
Febre da noite vã
Acelerou o curso da sangria
Traz à casa
O filho manco
Por um torpe devaneio
Por um facho de luz
À margem dos dias sãos
Emancipou
E caiu aos pés da lida
Ah, sereno
Teu livramento é
Como a foz de um rio seco
Dissolve no azul da manhã
Memórias que o vento traz
E haverá de levar
Nas águas de um rio
que aqui passou
A mágoa que só o tempo há de ferir ou de sanar
Ferro e amarras no chão
O pensamento voa…
