Cotton yarns are immersed in the soap oil for about 45minutes to 1 hour to increase the dye absorbability. The yarns are boiled in the boiler with water and soda ash for about 24 hours, then washed and dried. Cotton yarn prices steadied in north Indian markets today amid sluggish demand. Traders said that there is a possibility of seeing a declining trend in cotton yarn, as the entire textile value chain has reduced cotton-based operations. Meanwhile, the price of recycled yarn used in furnishing textiles slipped further by ₹5-10 per kg in Panipat.

Venkatagiri sarees are mostly of one to two inch wide with gold border, it has a unique characteristic of woven combinations of zari and cotton threads.
