Kanye West and Jay-Z have won the Best Rap Song award at the 2022 Grammys for “Jail.” The Donda track won out ahead of music by fellow nominees DMX (“Bath Salts”), Saweetie (“Best Friend”), Baby Keem (“Family Ties”), and J. Cole (“My Life”).
West had reportedly been due to perform at the show, but the offer was rescinded due to his online behavior, the Recording Academy apparently indicated. Before winning Best Rap Song, West was awarded Best Melodic Rap Performance for “Hurricane” with the Weeknd and Lil Baby. Jay-Z and West now have 24 career Grammys apiece.
