William Malcolm

William Malcolm (born January 20, 1987), known by his stage names NIGHTRUN87 and Vacos Malcolm, is an independent American - British musician, singer, songwriter, producer and composer currently residing in Poland .

Biography

William Malcolm displayed an early talent for music, commencing piano lessons at the age of four. In 1994, he relocated to Poland with his parents[1] [2] and brother[3] . He currently lives with his wife and daughter in Gdańsk. From 2006 to 2011, he was a member of the Punk Rock band Timmy and the Drugs[4], with which he recorded four albums. In 2011, he was a finalist[5] on the first season of the Polish X-Factor talent show. From 2009 to 2017, he and his friend Łukasz Zieliński[6] performed live shows as the duet Vacos and Billy Savage[7]. This collaboration later evolved into the music project called Vacos Malcolm[8], which since 2018 has released one album and multiple singles.

In 2013, under the mentorship of Anna Domżalska[9], he earned a master's degree in music from the Akademia Muzyczna (Music Academy) in Gdańsk, Poland.

Since 2015, he has been recording and performing under the name NIGHTRUN87, releasing twelve albums[10] . He has also engaged in voice acting[11], music composition, and sound engineering for video games[12], short films [13] and commercial advertisements. Since 2018, he has hosted a pop-culture podcast called Nightslime, in which he, along with Jarek Kowal[14] reviews comic books and movies. As of 2023, he co-owns an independent record label Iskra Cassettes that releases music exclusively on cassette tapes.
