The movie itself is ok. It seems like laika cared to much about the visual aspect with this one. The whole movie is kind of just bland and predictible. I had guessed to myself that the monkey is the mom and the beetle is the dad when the characters were introduced and that was supposed to be the big plot twist. They didn't do a good job of connecting you to the characters either. I found myself not caring when a character that you are supposed to care about died. The animation is amazing just like any other laika film. Great effects, good voice acting and phenomenal animation. I have to give them credit where it's due they did thir best with the animation and it's better than any of the other films by them animation wise. Overall I think it's a good film with astounding animation but very little story. I rate a 6 1/2

I love how much work Laika have put into their production so much! Everything was done so well up to the tiniest little details! I love the fact that they also show some extra clips of how they made a scene at the end along with the credits. I am a big fan since I was still a little child to a now growing adult.

I love every film by Laika, a very original studio who does storytelling right! Loveable characters and heartfelt messages with outstanding stop-motion animation. You can really feel the love and passion the animators put into each movie.
