You remember “car games” from being a kid, correct? They were games simple enough to play while on a long trip. Is it possible to simplify something like a roleplaying game into a car game — a tabletop RPG without the top of the table? Skirmisher Publishing thinks so.
Years ago they introduced the TSRPG — short for Travel-Sized Role Playing Game, meant to be played in places where the conventions of traditional RPGs are not possible. It’s been simplified to the point that you don’t need dice to play it. The TSRPG has basic rules that fit on just one page, has only two character stats (Physical and Mental) and has little or no bookkeeping. The original TSRPG rulebook was just ten pages long.
Skirmisher has now introduced a revised, expanded version of the TSRPG — but not TOO expanded. The size of the rulebook has been doubled to 20 pages. The Optional Rules section has gone from one to five pages and a mini-scenario, “Into the Shadows of Nyx,” has been included to get newcomers started.
The TSRPG is for two or more players and costs $1.99 at DriveThruRPG, and is also available as an included item among various bundles Skirmisher has on the website.
