I'm so glad they got rid of Janeway's gramma bun.

My son was smitten with 7 of 9 and used to videotape her for instant playback.

In Troi's case, it gave her a classic Grecian look, not Janeway's rugged pioneer woman on the prairie appearance. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I never saw it that way but now I'll always see it that way.

Yeah, but I saw a lot of elements in Betazoid culture that reminded me of ancient Greece and other ancient cultures. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Just my opinion, but I always thought a variation on this hairstyle was the most attractive on Captain Janeway.

Even when Kate Mulgrew starred on Mrs. Columbo I thought her hair looked better down at that length. Too bad Mrs. Columbo and Mr. Columbo never got to make at least one appearance together...

DID YOU KNOW ??? There are a number of iconic masks in horror, but Michael Myer’s bleached-out visage is one of the most terrifying. The props department took a Captain Kirk mask, painted it white, cut new eyeholes, and changed the hair. In doing so, they created one of the most visually recognizable images in horror history.
Now you do. |

Maybe they should have made Troi Greek (instead of Betazoid) who has psychic abilities |

I think that Betazoid culture was patterned after a mix of Greek, Crete, and Roman culture. I don't know for sure, but that was always my take on it. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Yeah huge Halloween fan. They had a small budget so one of the prop guys just grab a captain kirk mask, cut the eyes, sprayed paint it white, and the rest is history. |

Yup, it's steeped in it--especially the episode in the pic right above (McCoy) in which a gigantic alien took on the personna of Apollo as a god and couldn't survive the inevitable disbelief of those who used to worship him. Great stuff. Still is. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

For my first love, nobody will replace the original Star Trek crew. I'm so old that the original series was on when I was a little kid. I can still remember the first episode that grabbed me--"The Apple"--with the white haired aliens and the dinosaur headed "god" they worshipped that turned out to be a computerized program controlling their society. Man, they had some great social themes ahead of their time. I didn't know it then, of course--the white haired aliens and the dinosaur-type head captured my imagination.

I liked Tom and O'Brien also. Talk about growth in a character. There were quite a few like that. |
