Her mother is not progressive though her father is the opposite and thinks that girls are only good enough for doing household work and getting married. one day her marriage gets fixed with her father's friend's son and she gets married. Years pass and she gives birth to two sons Amal and Kamal. More than 25 years pass and Amal gets married and even has a daughter. Kamal passes his college and gets a good job and goes away to Bangalore. Kalyani's husband Suman starts getting worried regarding Kalyani as he wonders what would happen to her in case anything happened to her. The real problem lies with the elder son's wife as the ill treats her mother in law. One day Suman falls sick and passes away. After he passes away, Kalyani's daughter-in-law starts ill treating her even more. Her daughter-in-law enters politics and even becomes an M.L.A. she asks her mother-in-law to leave the house (indirectly) which her mother comes to know about and she agrees to go away to an old age home.
