Radio Ad
(Instruments fade in playing “When The Saints Go Marching In”)
Teacher: Does this tune sound familiar but not like you’ve heard it before?
Student: Yes, Miss. Hannigan but why does it sound so different?
Teacher: That’s because some students at the Children’s Home of Cincinnati are
learning to play this song on different instruments through the Music Heals
program.
Student: That sounds so fun Miss. Hannigan, but what is the Children’s Home of
Cincinnati and the Music Heals program?
Teacher: The Children’s Home of Cincinnati is a fun place for children and young
adults to go and learn important things for school and life that they may not be
getting at home or elsewhere. The Music Heals program uses the power of music to
show you how to channel your feelings into a positive outlet using a variety of
instruments from trumpets to drums to violins. And if instruments aren’t your
things, they have a choir as well.
Student: How I can I join the Music Heals program, Miss Hannigan?
Teacher: Have an adult you know log on to www.thechildrenshomecinti.org or call
513-272-2800 for more information
Student: Thanks Miss Hannigan, I can’t wait to start learning!

That Way”)
(After two lines in the song, light comes on overhead of alto section of choir and they
join in singing with the sopranos)
(After next two lines, light comes on overhead of tenor section and the small band to
the side, as the tenor section joins in singing with the rest of the choir)
(As chorus starts, single spotlight comes on in front of choir for Nick Lachey)
Nick Lachey: Wonder how these talented youngsters are covering my band’s hit “I
Want It That Way”? The Children’s Home of Cincinnati’s Music Heals program is
how! Through this wonderful healing program, children are encouraged and given
the tools to channel their feelings through music, whether they want to be apart of
the choir (camera pans choir) or a part of the band (single quick shot to the side
band), there is a place for every special child to learn and grow. To find out more
information about the Music Heals program or The Children’s Home of Cincinnati,
log on to www.thechildrenshomecinti.org or call 5132722800. We want to be a
microphone for each child’s voice so he or she can say
(Nick and Choir sing together) “I Want It That Way”.

NON-PROFIT TEACHING CHILDREN HOW TO HEAL THROUGH
MUSIC
April 1, 2015
We know the healing power of music and now The Children’s Home of Cincinnati
will be spreading that message to a much younger audience. Introduced as “Music
Heals”, the new musical program offered by the non-profit will be the first of its kind
in the area. Incorporating musical instruments and popular music in a band and
choral setting for children to channel their inner feeling and thoughts in a positive
way.
The Children’s Home of Cincinnati has partnered with the National Federation of
Musicians’ Cincinnati Chapter to bring in choral and instrumental experts to help
guide the children on their learning journey. There are several instruments options
offered for the students including trumpets and horns, xylophones, drums, violins,
violas and many more, all donated by local music shops around Cincinnati. Sheet
music for the choir has been donated from local shops as well.
Located in Cincinnati, the organization prides its self on helping children, from birth
to 18, who are experiencing social, behavioral or learning challenges. There are
several program options including educational programs for children of all ages to
support programs for parents and guardians. Children’s Home also has on-staff
physicians to help with any medical issues that the children may face while on site,
as well as for any previous medical conditions they may have had or if they want to
talk to someone.
