Jack Harlow Returns With “Tranquility”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

When white people look cold, they look very cold.

I’ll admit it: I haven’t been revisiting Jack Harlow’s “Hello Miss Johnson” much—actually, not at all. While the track showcases some clever bars, a slick beat, and a great music video, it just hasn’t compelled me to hit replay. Maybe that’s on me.

The good news? Jack dropped a new single yesterday called “Tranquility,” and it feels like a return to his earlier work. It has a darker, more introspective vibe that will resonate with fans of his classic style.

“Tranquility” rides on a slick beat with solid bass, but this time, it brings a darker, edgier vibe compared to “Hello Miss Jackson.” Over this moody backdrop, Jack delivers a fierce and focused rap style, touching on his future plans in music, leaving his past self behind, and flaunting the luxurious lifestyle he’s embraced. He also takes a moment to challenge the work ethic of his peers, questioning whether they have what it takes to handle the relentless demands of being a rap star.

What stands out most about this track is Jack’s flow—steady, robotic, and perfectly aligned with the beat’s energy. The confident lyrics and smooth production vibes tie it all together, making “Tranquility” a standout track.

When Jack raps like this, he’s a top YN in the game.
