Mahatma Gandhi

"To be true to my faith, therefore, I may not write in anger or malice. I may not write idly. I may not write merely to excite passion. The reader can have no idea of the restraint I have to exercise from week to week in the choice of topics and my vocabulary. It is training for me. It enables me to peep into myself and to make discoveries of my weaknesses. Often my vanity dictates a smart expression or my anger a harsh adjective. It is a terrible ordeal but a fine exercise to remove these weeds."
M. K. Gandhi,
Young India, July 2, 1925

Modern History
Historical Investigation

Assess Gandhi's contribution to India’s Independence.
•What led Gandhi into action
•How much did Gandhi contribute to India’s Independence
•How did Gandhi achieve non-violent protests
•What were the positive aspects of Gandhi's contribution

My research so far has been looking at who Gandhi was, and what he contributed to India's Independence. Recently i have learnt that Gandhi's full name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and was born in Porbander in western India 1869 and died in 1948.  He was a main figure in India who formed Indias history up to it's Independence in 1947.
