Learning is a treasure that will follow you forever.

– Chinese Proverb

This school year the students of St. Albert the Great will continue their  adventure of learning and I am pleased to be part of that journey as your interim principal for the school year.

Serving in the Archdiocese of Chicago, beginning as a classroom teacher, then serving as an assistant principal, principal for over 12 years before joining the staff of the Pastoral Center as a Regional Director for various Vicariates, I welcome the opportunity to join the community of St. Albert the Great.

St. Albert the Great school will be welcoming over 250 students to this school, many, like myself, new to the community. Each student and their family has been invited into this faith based community of learners and the safe, supported school environment will continue to nurture each child.

Thank you for your continued support of your child’s Catholic education and we look forward to a grand learning adventure in the school year 2024-2025.

Blessings,
Lorelei Bobroff, Principal

Our Mission

Promote the spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, cultural, social, and emotional development of each student.

Personalized Learning

We are the proud recipient of the CME Grant to fund a Personalized Learning program in our school. The grant offers us upgraded wifi, a server system, Google Classroom, professional development for our teachers, and Educational Technology tools to enhance our learning environment, including i-Ready.

We are very pleased with our i-Ready program and as the 2021-2022 results show, St. Albert the Great is THE school to be at for a high quality, rigorous, and supported education in a Catholic environment that is filled with the joy of Christ:

  • 70% of our students are at or above grade level in reading, compared to the National Tested Population at 31% and the Archdiocese of Chicago students at 50%.

  • 63% of our students are at or above grade level in math, compared to the National Tested Population at 26% and the Archdiocese of Chicago students at 39%.

Student Life

Educating the whole child is important to us at St. Albert the Great. The SATG Student Life Program offers our students the opportunity to continue learning after the school day has ended.

Students can participate in activities that allow them to discover new interests, solve problems, think both critically and creatively, all while developing their self-confidence as learners. We believe we have served a student well when a St. Albert the Great student is strong in mind, strong in body and strong in faith.

Pastor’s Message

Welcome to St. Albert the Great Catholic School in Burbank, IL
As the pastor, our school and religious education is an extremely important part of our ministry. Always, I am so happy to see our students, teachers and parents coming to our Catholic school. From the moment our students arrive, they are surrounded by reminders of God’s love. Crucifixes hang in every classroom and each day begins and ends with prayer. Our Catholic faith permeates every class and subject throughout the school day. We do all we can to impart, through words and actions, the values and beliefs of our faith. Celebrating Mass (every Wednesday and every second Sunday of the month) with our students, teachers, parents, parishioners and visitors fills me with joy, energy and happiness. We should always be example of faith, hope, love, trust, forgiveness and joy for our students, as they are the future of the Catholic Church. Please consider registering your children to St. Albert the Great Catholic School.
