We advocate the use of interval-type bounds on cumulative distribution functions, called
probability boxes, to handle several problems arising when a wireless communication
system performance must be assessed in the presence of model uncertainties, poorly known
or unknown dependencies of random variables, or imprecisely specified probability
distributions. The amount of uncertainty is evaluated quantitatively by using sharp bounds
on performance parameters.
