In this paper, we discuss the status of fuzzy commutative algebra as it applies to intersection
equations. We give an up to date account of the theory of nonlinear systems of intersection
equations of L-singletons. The concept of an algebraic L-variety is presented in order to
bring fuzzy commutative algebra to bear on the solution of such intersection equations.
