Abstract
AN ELECTRONIC HYPERTEXT PROGRAM is the ideal environment for the creation of a resource for teachers of literature because it allows faculty users access to all of the multidimensional components that make up teaching knowledge. In designing and building an electronic teaching resource calledSyllabus Builder, we tried to maximize the fluid capabilities of a hypertext database to break down the artificial boundaries that exist between scholarly, critical, and pedagogical information, and allow users to trace paths between specific information about authors and their implementation in classroom practice.
