Sigfredo Fuentes received his Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences from the University of Talca, Chile, and his PhD from Western Sydney University, Australia. He is currently an associate professor in Digital Agriculture and Food Sciences at The University of Melbourne, School of Agriculture and Food, Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences. His scientific interests range from researching the impacts of climate change on agriculture; the development of new computational tools for plant physiology, food, and animal sciences; the implementation of new and emerging sensor technology; and proximal, short, and long-range remote sensing using robots, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), and satellites in agriculture and food sciences. He has published more than 160 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals within these research areas.
