Shengwen Qi is a professor at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Director of the Key Laboratory of Shale of Gas and Geoengineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Geological Engineering at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2002. He specialized in engineering geomechanical problems of rock mass related to slope (sliding), tunnels, underground excavations, etc. The research interests include the dynamic effect of rock mass, seismic response of rock slope, deformation and failure of underground engineering rock mass in high-in-situ-stress areas, gravity deformation in deep slopes, and corresponding shallow crust dynamic characteristics.
