Professor Sandeep Vasaikar is Professor of Medical Microbiology in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Walter Sisulu University. He has been working as a head of the division of Med Micro since 2004. He studied MBBS at GMC, received his MD in Med Micro at LTMMC, Mumbai and received his PhD from WSU in 2016. His research interest are Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) and AMR in rural area. He has received VC’s Research award for high achievement in research in 2019. Teaching, both undergraduate medical and postgraduate students at WSU by Problem-Based Learning and Community-Based Education, has also been an abiding interest.
