Dr. Matteo Vitali is currently a Full Professor of Hygiene at the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. He completed his Ph.D. studies in Public Health at the Sapienza University of Rome in 1995. He is the Chemical Manager of the Environmental Chemistry Lab at the Department and the Head of the PRGM Hospital Environmental Hygiene Program at the University Hospital Policlinico Umberto I in Rome. His research interests are environmental pollution, environmental chemistry, environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), public health, human biomonitoring, risk assessment, and hospital hygiene.
