Prof. Dr. Gerasimos Terzis is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and currently serves as the Head of the
Department. He holds a master’s degree in Human Physiology (University of Copenhagen, Denmark) and a PhD from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science of NKUA in Exercise Physiology. He is a professor at the same Department and teaches athletic throws, strength training, and Olympic weightlifting at the undergraduate level, as well as neuromuscular function and adaptations at the postgraduate level. He is the head of the Sports Performance Laboratory and deputy director of the postgraduate program "Physical Education and Sports" of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science. His research interests focus on the acute and long-term effects of resistance exercise on human performance and muscle tissue adaptations in healthy individuals and in neuromuscular disease patients.
