Dr. Thuy Le Toan has experience in project management and scientific development, as well as expertise in SAR scattering of land surfaces and applications in forestry and agriculture. She has been involved in numerous studies for the E.U., ESA, NASA, JAXA, CNES, and national organisations, regarding the use of SAR in monitoring land surfaces. She has been a project coordinator of European experimental campaigns and a P.I. of several European and ESA projects, using radars for forest observations. She is currently a member of the JAXA Kyoto and Carbon Initiative, a member of the Asia-RICE initiatives. She is the P.I. of the P-band BIOMASS satellite project and is currently co-chair of the ESA BIOMASS Mission Advisory Group.
