Some of the biggest names in Japanese manga are going to join forces for a special tribute to Marvel comics.

As announced at New York Comic Con, Viz and Marvel are partnering on Marvel Comics: A Manga Tribute which will collect illustrations from over twenty Japanese artists who will give their unique spin on iconic Marvel characters.

This includes artists like Q Hayashida (Dorohedoro), Yoshida Amano (Final Fantasy series), and Yusuke Murata, best known for their work on One-Punch Man and Eyeshield 21.

Murata in particular is known for his Marvel art, having done several covers and posters for the character. His drawings of Spider-Man go viral every couple of months on Twitter.

You can see a few of his illustrations below.

According to Viz and Marvel, "Marvel Comics: A Tribute explores Marvel's rich and enduring legacy as a pop-culture phenomenon by paying homage to its most iconic characters and beloved stories.

It is not the only Marvel manga project announced at NYCC. Marvel also announced Spider-Man Fake Red, a new Spider-Man manga written and drawn by Yusuke Osawa starring a new Spider-Man who isn't Peter Parker.

Marvel also announced Wolverine: Snikt! Which is a manga take on Wolverine set in a wasteland where Wolverine must fight robotic organisms who have nearly wiped out humanity.
