Viva was founded in 2006 and was called VivaAerobus until October 2024. Viva is fully owned by IAMSA, Mexico's largest bus company. It is a low cost airline with its main base at Monterrey International Airport. The airline maintains additional hubs at Cancun, Guadalajara, Los Cabos, Merida, Tijuana and both airports of Mexico City. International destinations are also served, mostly to the USA, Cuba and Colombia. Viva operates a large fleet of Airbus single aisle aircraft configured in a high density layout.

Check in rules

Registration can be done online (via the website or mobile app) or at the airport. Online check-in begins 72 hours before domestic flights and 24 before international flights.

Baggage

Viva allows each passenger to bring one pieces of luggage as carry-on as long as each item is within 55 cm (22") x 40 cm (16") x 20 cm (10"). Passengers may also carry a personal item, such as a purse, briefcase, laptop bag or camera bag. The total weight of all three pieces cannot exceed 22 lbs / 10 kg.

Unaccompanied minors

Viva does not provide an Unaccompanied Minor service. Children aged 14-17 are allowed to fly alone on domestic flights.

Infants

Viva accepts one baby (under 2 years old) per Adult. Infants are defined as children under two years of age. Babies must be at least seven days old to fly with us.

Pets

Welcomes cats and dogs with max weight of 27 lbs. Carrier dimentions 18 x 14 x 8 inches. Minimum age 8 weeks old.
