Ultimate Soccer (アルティメイト サッカー) is a football game developed by Rage Software (who at the time specialised in sports games) and published in 1993 by Sega for the Sega Mega Drive, Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear. It is based on Rage's Commodore Amiga game Striker, released a year before, with Ultimate Soccer seeing release around the same time as the Super NES version of said game.
All three versions of the game were released in Europe, however Brazil did not see the Mega Drive version and Japan only saw the Game Gear port. No versions of Ultimate Soccer were released in North America.

Gameplay
Ultimate Soccer is one of many football games released for Sega systems, opting for a pseudo-3D top-down perspective. The game also features support for 8 players simultaneously. It also contains numerous Sonic the Hedgehog cameos.
Teams
The game contains 64 national teams to play as, though uses made-up names for the players, presumably due to licensing issues.

History
The success of Striker on multiple platforms led to it becoming a series of games, with future Sega releases dropping the Ultimate Soccer moniker and reverting back to the original name, with 1995's Striker (also published by Sega) being the first to do so on Sega platforms. Two other Striker games would be released on Sega consoles, Striker '96 for the Sega Saturn and UEFA Striker (known in North America as Striker Pro 2000) for the Sega Dreamcast.
