Charli Grace D'Amelio (born May 1,2004)[2] is an American social media personality and dancer. As of October 11, 2020, she has gained over 96 million followers on the social video sharing app TikTok, and has been called the "Reigning Queen of TikTok" by the New York Times.[3]
Personal life
Her father Marc D'Amelio is a politician. Her mother's name is Heidi D'Amelio, and her sister's name is Dixie D'Amelio.[4]
Career
She and her sister, Dixie, worked with UNICEF, speaking out against online bullying and about the troubles of finding fame on TikTok.[5]
In 2021, Charli won the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice award for Female Social Star.
D'Amelio's job began on TikTok in the summer of 2019 with uploaded dance videos. She has since gained over 107.2 million TikTok followers,[6] 15.2 million Instagram followers,[7] 2.58 million YouTube subscribers,[8] and over 846 thousand Twitter followers.[9]
