Bboxx Ltd. is a next-generation utility and off-grid solar company. This company design, manufacture, distribute and finance decentralized solar-powered systems in developing countries. This company provides with economic development in off-grid communities and those living without a reliable grid connection. [2][3][4]

History

Bboxx has three co-founders – Mansoor Hamayun, Christopher Baker-Brian, and Laurent  Van Houcke. They co-founded Bboxx in 2010. [2][5]

Operation

  • Won Zayed Sustainability Award for Energy.[6]
  • Launched first mini-grid at Kivu international School in DRC Goma.[8]
  • $31 Million deal with AIIM. [9] . $50 Million Series D funding round led by Mitsubishi.[10][11]
  • Signed MOU with the government of the DRC to bring reliable and clean electricity to 10 million citizens by 2024.[12]
  • Partnered with UNCDF to expand clean cooking access.[13]
  • Teamed up with EDF to increase access to solar-powered farming.[14][15][16]
