Marion Lois Jones (born October 12, 1975), also known as Marion Jones-Thompson, is an American former world champion track-and-field athlete and former professional basketball player. She won three gold medals and two bronze medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. In 2007, Jones admitted that she used steroids.[2] and the International Olympic Committee took away her five medals and she was sentenced to six months in prison.

  1. Teammate Kelli White was later found to have used performance-enhancing drugs and the IAAF disqualified the team.
