SIOUX CITY -- A local man was recently sentenced to prison for stealing thousands of dollars while serving as an officer for a local labor union, documents state.
According to court documents, Stanley Teasley, 53, of McCook Lake, S.D., was sentenced Thursday to up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to one felony count of first-degree theft.
Teasley was charged in connection with a theft of money believed to be taken between July 18, 2006, to March 11, 2009, from local lodge 1426 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
The sentencing order required Teasley, who worked as the group's secretary, was ordered to pay $17,525.44 restitution to the union.
