Questions Church Related Activities:
Why don’t we use instruments when we worship God in songs? Why don’t we support certain groups or activities from the church treasury? Why do we weekly partake in communion (the Lord’s Supper)?

We Reason – From Scripture
We read of Christians coming together on the 1st day of the week… so that is what we do. Acts 20:27 We don’t read of where Christians played instruments while praising God in song… so that is what we refrain from doing. We read of how churches used the collection to help needy saints (1 Cor. 16:1-2) or support men who preach the gospel (1 Cor. 9)… and so limit our treasury usage to such practices.

The Difficulties in Application
One says you need to have “Bible authority” to have a (Bible) class-room. Another demands the need for just “a/the cup” when partaking of the Lord’s Supper. Matt. 26:27 Still, another says women must “keep silent” when the church comes together. 1 Cor. 13:34 Are we heretics because of our application (or lack thereof) of “Bible authority”?

We Love and Honor God Despite inconsistencies in application (whether we admit them or not). We seek to honor and respect God’s word. 1 Pet. 4:11 We strive to biblically teach and practice our convictions by way of faith. Rom. 14:23 For this reason we strive to do all for the glory of God. Cp. 1 Cor. 10:31
