Hanyang University is a private research university in South Korea. The main campus is in Seoul, and the second, the Education Research Industry Cluster, or ERICA Campus, is located in Ansan. The name "Hanyang"  comes from the former name of the capital city of Seoul, which was used during the Chosun Dynasty. His motto and educational philosophy: "Love in deed and truth."

In 1939, the university founded the country's first engineering institute (DongA Engineering Institute), which became the founding of Hanyang University, as well as the first school of architecture and civil engineering in Korea.

The Seoul Campus student residence is a shared space where students live together.

Hanyang University provides scholarships to international students:

• The Hanyang Outstanding Foreign (HIEA) Scholarship is awarded to international students who are admitted to a university with excellent grades and exemplary school references.
• TOPIK Scholarship is awarded to international students (Bachelor, Master) studying at Hanyang University who take the TOPIK test and receive a grade.
